Live battles

A battle is a 60-second speed duel. Two children answer times table questions on two devices and see who is faster. Children can also battle the computer.

Host a live battleFamilies with the Lifetime Pass

A child on the free plan sees a note where the host button would be: Hosting live battles comes with the Lifetime Pass. You can join a friend’s battle any time, or play a bot battle!

The child must be on a parent phone or a linked tablet that has the Lifetime Pass.

  1. On the quest map, tap Arena.
  2. On the Live 1v1 Duel tab, tap Create Battle Room.
  3. Show your friend the 6-character room code or the QR code. You can also tap Copy Invite Link and send it to them.
  4. Wait. The battle starts by itself when your friend connects.

  1. In the Arena, open the Live 1v1 Duel tab.
  2. Type your friend’s code in the CODE box and tap Join. Or tap Scan and point the camera at your friend’s QR code.

A friend can also open the invite link in their browser to join. They do not have to install TimesHero first.

  • A room code has 6 letters and numbers.
  • It works for 10 minutes.
  • A room holds two players. A third player sees This battle is full.
  • If the code is wrong or has run out, the child sees We couldn’t find that battle. Check the code, or ask your friend for a new one. Ask the host for a new room.
  • After too many wrong codes, they see Too many wrong codes. Please wait 15 minutes and try again.

Live battles run on our service, and we keep an eye on the running cost. For that reason live battles may rest. If many battles have been played in a month, children may see Live battles are resting until the 1st, try a bot battle! A battle that has already started carries on. Battles against the computer always work.

  • The other player sees your child’s first name and hero. Nobody else does.
  • Our service only introduces the two devices. The game then runs directly between them.
  • There is no chat.
